Die Canon EW-78D Gegenlichtblende soll verhindern, dass seitlich einfallendes Licht an Linsen oder Fassungsteilen reflektiert wird und so auf den Film, einen elektronischen Empfänger (zum Beispiel einen CCD-Chip) oder in das Okular gelangt. Diese Gegenlichblende ist für die Canon EF28-200mm f3.5-5.6 und EF28-200mm f3.5-5.6 USM Objektive geeignet.
